We are “Friends of Young Adult Ministry.” We are a group of people who have benefited from a ministry to young adults in the 20s and 30s. During those years in our lives, our faith was strengthened as well as our relationship to the Catholic Church. Because of young adult ministry our involvement with Catholic parishes has been made a lot easier. For some of us that was the last thing we imagined when we were 25!
Now it is time for us to reach out and make these same experiences available to those in their 20s and 30s. We want to support the efforts of those of you whose job, task and ministry is to young adults.
We are also aware that too many young adults are less and less present to the Church as we were at their age. The mantra “I am spiritual, but not religious” continues to be spoken by even more young adults today. We do not need to be sociologists of religion to affirm this phenomenon. We need only to look at the congregations who gather for weekend Mass. Often there are fewer people than just 10 years ago. And the median age is a lot older than 10 years ago.
Friends of Young Adult Ministry is a small not-for-profit organization that would like to fund creative outreaches to young adults. We want to encourage new ideas, creative outreaches and inventive programs that have of the goal of connecting to young adults who are today’s searchers and seekers.
We are able to fund worthwhile projects in the range of $1,000 - $5,000.
Full details and grant application procedures are found here on our website.
